Sometimes I really miss working there.
That midway was mine. We were the Midway Mafia. I had some great times.
Then I remember my pitiful checks.
Fuck that monsense!
Oh, this is a really great shot by the way. This place is definitely really cool to shoot when the lights go out.

Totally agreed on how cool that place is to shoot.
Sometimes I find myself going, "man, I'd really like to work here..." and then I think of everything all of my friends and family have said about it and decide otherwise.
If you don't have bills to pay, and you can take the train to work or something, it's fantastic. It's one of those jobs I'd like to go back and do once I retire. The kind of thing where you don't have to put up with shit from supervisors and managers 'cause you don't really need the job anyway!

You know how you don't feel like you can offer anything useful on my writing because it's "out of your league"?
...Yeah.
I love how you managed to achieve such a beautiful contrast in the tone of this image. It's got such a limited range of color, but somehow, between the reflections and the shadows and the glow of the sky, it's like its own little monochrome rainbow. I dig.
Also, the black border is a nice touch in this particular image. Brava.
Your photographic skills (specifically post-processing) are improving a lot, hopefully in part from watching me (and thusly learning what not to do... heh.) In any case, very nice work indeed.

I tried it with the white border (because even digital photographs must have a border to be "art", hehehe), and it looked too washed out and cheery. It seriously reminded me of a snapshot.
For me, the border adds space in which you can shut out the things around it and focus on the image itself. It being black helps add to how dark I was trying to make the picture feel. Cause... ya know... black? Get it?
The sharpness of the wheel next to the blurry image on the water is really nice. I am not completely sold on the grey tones, but it is still a striking image.
wow beautiful. I love that the lights are all off and it's low in color. very much the opposite of what one expext from a theme park. also this is such a wonderfully rich image.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
