This is real good! I live how you have captured everything that matters.

Your images are so good at telling stories.

:)

I read somewhere once that a photographer ( I forget who) was looked up to by his peers and admirers for being able to tell a story with one photograph. I've been trying my best to do more than capture a single moment since I read that.

Thanks, hon.
And you seem to be learning that lesson quite well my luv.

Yup. That's Photojournalism. Environment, emotion, essence, and the ability to evoke it (how's that for cliche?). And sometimes better to make the looker think "what exactly is going on?". Give them multiple representations....let the onlooker think. THe longer a person looks at your photograph, the better you have done your job.

And B&W is the perfect way to do it! Your forte:)
LostEloquence,

This is magnificent.

Its got a real smokey-jazz-club kind of feel about it. Very 1940's.

The only thing which detracted my eye was the patterned tiling on the floor. I feel the image would have been just a little bit better if the floor was a uniform white, or vignetted to the outer frame.

Lovely.

H

Thanks!

I was considering digitally altering the floor because it was a little distracting, but figured it wouldn't directly fall into photography if I changed it.

So, I just captured the moment and everything in it. That's the way it was and there's no way I could have changed it. :)

Thanks again.
LostEloquence,

I know what you mean by not post-processing because it wouldn't be a direct representation anymore.

I used to have a hard time making myself correct levels and curves because I felt I was being unfaithful. Now, I don't think twice.

Just bear in mind, that even the professionals do it.

Well done, again.

Regards,
H

Really? Hahaha! I was thinking the *same* thing looking at your stuff. I've wanted to be able to have a drawing style similar to yours since I was little.
